Participar dessa festa é uma ótima oportunidade para conhecer os mais variados tipos de pessoas. O mochileiro que foi acampar, o artista de rua, o escritor que lançou o livro sozinho, o escritor pop star, o turista que gosta de literatura e também o pessoal que dá preferência à mesa do bar para discutir temas não abordados nas mesas da Flip.

Joe Sacco é uma figura que representa bem essa mistura. O escritor, nascido em malta, aborda em seus livros cenários de guerra, como os conflitos da Palestina e da Bósnia. Ao mesmo tempo, ele também tem uma bem sucedida carreira como cartunista.
