Fernanda, de Bukowski na mão: parte de uma tradição
Mayra Dias Gomes – Filha do dramaturgo Dias Gomes, Mayra estreou no mundo dos livros aos 17 com o pungente (e totalmente autobiográfico) Fugalaça. No livro, contava a fuga autodestrutiva de Satine (uma menina de elite que acabava de perder o pai – como a própria Mayra) através de amores instáveis, drogas de sobra e autodescoberta perplexa. Embora os críticos considerem esse tipo de personagem território gasto (caso desse, no Digestivo Cultural), reconheceram na prosa da moça fluidez e alguma valentia no trato de temas tão comuns. Na verdade, foi ela a inaugurar o estilo escrevo-tenho-tatuagens-e-sou-gostosa, primeiro na Vip e em seguida na Playboy. Outra coincidência: a orelha de seu livro é assinada por uma certa Fernanda Young. Sua segunda obra, escrita na tenra idade de 21 anos, chama-se Mil e uma noites de silêncio. Ao que parece não é tão autobiográfico: menina abandonada pelos pais biológicos e pelo noivo (no altar) sai em busca de um laço que seja verdadeiro. Luciano Trigo conversou com a beldade sobre o livro no seu Máquina de Escrever.
Alice Denham - Se alguém pode reclamar o título de pioneira nesse campo, esse gracioso alguém é a americana Alice Denham. Ela adornou as páginas da Playboy com suas curvas cobertas de pó-de-arroz no longínquo ano de 1956. Como La Young, escreveu um pequeno conto que acompanhou o ensaio (foi a primeira a fazer isso, ao menos na revista). Alice era uma criatura literária: tirava a roupa para poder escrever e sustentar sua vida na boemia novaiorquina dos anos 50 e 60, quando se tornou amiga (e em alguns casos levou pra cama) grandes da literatura e do cinema como Norman Mailer, James Dean, Philip Roth e Jack Kerouac. Escreveu dezenas de contos e novelas como Amo e My darling from the lions (”minha querida dos leões” seria a estranha tradução literal) e em 2006 lançou um livro de memórias, Sleeping with bad boys, (”dormindo com maus meninos”), que conta seus dias pulando entre as camas mais literatas de seu tempo (”James Dean cheirava a baunilha”, lê-se no New York Times). Para quem se interessar, ela ainda dá aulas de creative writing na City University de Nova York. Vá apenas com boas intenções, que a moça tem 76 anos.
Juliette Fretté – À primeira vista (e talvez à vigésima primeira também) Juliette é uma coelhinha como outra qualquer: carinha de barbie, olhinhos de bola-de-gude, cabelo loiroso, pernas esquias e ampulheta batendo com precisão o clássico 90-60-90. Ela apareceu pela primeira vez na Playboy como coelhinha-caloura (ou seja lá como são chamadas essas beldades de pouco mais de 18) e meses depois estava esparramada no centerfold de Miss Junho de 2008. O que ninguém sabia, talvez nem ela própria naquele momento, é que os ensaios e a pouca roupa eram o trabalho de campo para sua tese para a graduação na UCLA em Women Studies, essa disciplina tão americana dos estudos de gênero. O título merece um Prêmio Jabuti: Posing for Playboy from a feminist perspective: How Media Images Impact Women’s Empowerment (algo como “posando para a Playboy a partir de uma perspectiva feminista: como as imagens midiáticas influenciam o poder feminino”). Juliette é crítica de arte e literatura em revistas como WhiteHot e Lit & Music Review e além de tudo pinta, como se pode ver na galeria de seu site.
Wendy Guerra – Talvez essa poeta cubana seja simultaneamente a mais resguardada e a mais libertária de todas as que aparecem aqui. Posou nua mais que todas, certamente, mas nunca (até onde se sabe) por dinheiro: “Para mim é um gesto cotidiano que me remete ao tempo da Escola de Arte, onde meus companheiros de Artes Plásticas não podiam pagar modelos fora da classe e éramos nós, suas colegas, quem posávamos para todo tipo de obra”, explica ela nessa entrevista à revista espanhola Interviú. “Não estamos preparados ainda para que intelectuais passem diante de um corpo nu”. Wendy, autora de livros como Cabeza rapada (”cabeça raspada”) e Todos se van (”todos se vão”), é uma das principais vozes da literatura cubana hoje e a sexualidade e o nu são interesses artísticos importantes. Suas colaborações para a revista Encuentro, especialmente contos como Olga ya no es un nombre ruso (”Olga já não é um nome russo”), são um bom exemplo, mas não fica nisso. No momento ela conduz uma pesquisa detalhada sobre a passagem de Anais Nïn – sim, a amante de Henry Miller – por Cuba.
